This is a LIVE Feed to the CISN (The California Integrated Seismic Network Display).
Monitor earthquakes as they happen around the WORLD!
Earthquake Magnitudes 3.0 or larger sets off an ALARM where the screen will FLASH RED several times with a LOUD TONE. Smaller quakes you will hear a more muted tone.
RED squares on the map represent earthquakes within the last hour, BLUE within the last 24 hrs and YELLOW in the last 7 days.
Latest earthquake and seismologist reviewed quakes are pointed out on the map by a SMALL WHITE ARROW and quake info will be at the bottom of the screen with quake status (unverified or reviewed), date, time, location, magnitude, depth & etc.
If you note a irregular shaped coloring around a larger quake/square on the map this is a ShakeMap. Larger quakes automatically generate a ShakeMap that indicates the intensity of the shaking by color and the area the shaking occurred via earthquake monitoring equipment .

PS. On a personal note, we use the CISN Display as a tool with our work, but personally I have always been so interested in earthquakes. It's so interesting to see how many and how often earthquakes occur.
